Protech is a leaky version of the compensating line. Leather initially feels a little stiffer than oiled leather, but wears well. They are also slightly cooler, making them suitable for hot weather riding.

Love the light weight but great protection. I can walk in it all day. Ride narrow, technical singletrack, rock traverses, and climbs. Offers more flexibility and a better feel than motocross boots.

Size chart differs from boot size. The chart shows boot tag 10/43 10/44.5 so that's too much since I'm 43. The boot is very soft so should be comfortable but not very protective of the ankle. I think I'll consider SG 12 and pay the extra $$ for more protection.

Love these boots! My first pair and I use them for long trips, both touring and off-road. Actually I'm on a trip from Kenya through some parts of Tanzania and they are beautiful. I can walk in them with no problem, they are waterproof and very comfortable for long days in the saddle.

The boots are comfortable and appear to be made of good leather. However, the closure system is subpar at best. The buckles are very cheap and not strong at all - there is no distinct click and they are cheap plastic. I could see that they break very easily. I usually wear 9.5" shoes - size 10 was too big - so much so that the top buckle didn't close at its tightest position. (I'm average/athletic in calves).
