This repair connector did the job perfectly, saving me the hassle and cost of replacing the entire hose. As a result of using this product, I found that it securely connects the two damaged pieces, with no leaks or drips. The only downside is that the color is quite bright, but it's a minor issue given the functionality. I received an old version of the item, not the one in the pictures on this page which is the latest version. However this is a great classic Gardena hose connector, very well made in Germany with traditionally good quality and design for this brand. No five stars because of wrong pictures. The seller must be careful!

Revain is noticeably vague about Gardena products. I have the older airlock models pictured in the listing but at least the fittings WERE for 1/2" hose. Be sure to order Gardena repair fittings which Revain says are for 1/2" hoses. or 5/8" hoses. They are exclusively for 5/8" hoses. I have been using Gardena hoses and connectors for years and they are easy to use and reliable when Revain ships what you think you are ordering.
