I thought it would be quicker and easier than my method. It's not like this. Too much time and effort is put into skinning. Too much pressure and rolling. I poke the clove once with the flat side of the knife and then remove it with my fingers. It's faster and easier for me.

How did I live without it. Fresh garlic is much better than pre-chopped in a jar. This small tube makes exfoliation an easy task. Before using this, I always used my thumb to finish off the last stubborn layer of paper like clove skin, which left a garlicky smell that lingered on my finger for days. No longer.

I prefer to put one or no more than two cloves in the peeler at a time, although it's quite large and you can put several at a time if you'd like. I bought this product to help peel garlic for canning vegetables. My recipe calls for 5 cloves per jar. I've tried other methods, but this definitely worked the best for me. The concept works as long as the cover is dry on the inside. This will cause the outer skin of the garlic bulb to rub against the inner soft tines in the tube. This friction causes the skin to peel off. Brilliant idea until you try to peel the second onion. By then the inside of the pod is wet from the juice of the first onion and there is no friction so the skin doesn't come off. Now just make a pleasant massage with a garlic bulb. Maybe I'm missing something here.

I used it incorrectly at first because I cut off the tops of the cloves before trying to clean them. I have worked with the company and thank them for their help. It turns out that cutting off the tops of the cloves introduces moisture, which interferes with peeling. When I tried it once without cutting off the ends of the cloves, it worked like magic!
