I bought this GPS because of its large screen. I was very pleasantly surprised to see how well it handles navigation, phone calls and other things. Free map updates, unlike in previous years. It's definitely competitive with Google Maps, except it's not free.

Love the big screen and the different map options. I've only used it in its most basic form. I haven't tried voice recognition. Garmin is exactly what I expected and I'm very satisfied. On the other hand, the multi-function car adapter doesn't seem to fit the hole. It's very loose and keeps losing connection. I have several adapters and have never seen one loose. I wish I hadn't bought this one.

Frustrating Garmin device doesn't show destination address on screen while traveling. If you have saved several addresses, you cannot be sure which address block is actually included when you start your journey. I want the device to display exit numbers while driving. It only shows exit numbers when asked to select a specific exit. Does not always indicate long-term (more than 1 year) construction projects or reduced speed limits, even when linked to a mobile application.

I love the big screen, I can see everything. The kit also includes a dashboard mount, carrying case and adapter. It doesn't recognize my voice well like my previous device. I think it's my accent and I'll let it go. Overall I recommend Garmin GPS Navigators and this one is my best. I love how they packaged everything. It stands updated but I can't tell from new.

Happy with this purchase. It took me a while to set it up but if I had followed the instructions it wouldn't have taken so long! Bought this as an upgrade from my old Garmin Nuvi 855. The old Garmin still worked, but it was definitely about time. The Garmin Smart 65 is very good. It came complete with windshield mount, heavy base and charger. Out of the box, both the OS and the maps needed updating, which I did overnight.
