My favorite Garmin watch so far!

I love this watch. My old Garmin is dead and I love this one even more. It picks up satellites very quickly. I love the live tracking feature when I have an iPhone. The husband can see where I am on my route. Also like when next to the phone automatically uploads to Garmin Connect. After completing the race, you will be told which "records" you have just broken. (Longest drive, fastest mile, fastest 5km) Easy to use and navigate screens. My photo shows the summary screen at the end of the run.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Great price

These watches are great. I waited and waited to get it and.

This watch is great. I've waited and waited to get it and I'm very glad I did. The battery life is fantastic and the screens are very easy to see and read while working. I also like the color aspect; It really makes the screen pop and adds an extra cool factor. Also, the design of the watch is very cool. I've worn it to work several times and gotten compliments. The Forerunner 220 is by far the most attractive running watch out there in my opinion. Apart from this very subjective quality, I…

High expectations: GPS, viewfinder and accessories

The most important thing I get from the 220 that I don't get from the free Android apps I already have is the speed alert and capability to look at it (instead of pulling out your phone) for instant tempo. If it works. As for the form factor, it's good as long as it's on my left hand. I kept the watch but also bought a Fitbit HR to have an accurate step count. Things that drive me nuts about this watch: 1. You can't get into the menu to tell it to manually set the time or turn off GPS unless it

Very good device, if not quite perfect

Overall the 220 is a very good product and I will not use its many features for training. I bought it to replace an aging 305 that still works. Here's my take on a few days of wearing both. Features: Model 220 is smaller/thinner/lighter. The display is easier to read and scrolling through screens is easier. The 220 uses a USB charger, the 305 uses a wall outlet. When showing Auto Lap miles, the 220 vibrates (works very well) and the 305 beeps (easy to miss). Printed instructions 220 are…

Good watch for beginner runners

I started running regularly a few weeks ago (3-4 times a week, only 40km a week at the moment) so I consider myself a beginner runner and don't need all the bells and whistles in a running watch that a seasoned runner could use. This watch does its job well. What I like: Light watch, no extra weight on the wrist which would be a problem on long runs, the display is clearly visible even in direct sunlight, the watch has the data I need like heart rate, cadence, pace, speed, distance etc. It has…

star product! - GPS, finder and accessories

Pros: Connects to satellites quickly, usually within 30 seconds for me, much shorter in most cases. Accurately records distance and allows me to customize gauges so I can always see my heart rate. When combined with a heart rate monitor, gives an accurate estimate of calories burned. Small and light enough to be used as an everyday watch while still not looking as bad as one. The screen is easy to read in daylight and the backlight is bright enough to read the screen in the dark. Cons: I can't…

So far it's been great.

I have one of the early Garmin GPS and heart watches which has served me well for a while but is heavy and large on the wrist. But for many years I have not had any failures, although the search for satellites takes a very long time. This unit is amazing. It finds them quickly and is very easy to use. After a day of use, I was able to determine what information I wanted to see during my workout, and the controls are so few that they're almost intuitive to use. The watch fits your wrist…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Only available in white

Well, the watch itself: Pros: Connected to satellites, phone, heart rate monitor very quickly. I really like how light it is. All in all I can't complain. It does the job and I love it, only more of my own custom settings, I wish they were a little different. Nothing that could really be fixed by snapping to a few stars etc. Cons: I wish there was a timer, heart rate, and also a distance screen. The toggling works, but I really wish I had shown these three combinations on screen in a specific…

Too long for de - Best Garmin GPS watch!

I am a runner who uses the Galloway method (run/walk) for sprints, half marathons, full marathons and trail runs. I've been using my old Garmin 201 non-stop for a little over 10 years and broke and only ordered this watch as a replacement after my old 201 had serious trouble getting a charge (and in fact I suspect the real culprit is here is an old charging station). The 201 has served me so well that I just couldn't find a new GPS running watch. Wow I can't believe how AWESOME this new Garmin…
