Good for thermostat seals

I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews posted. Tightened to 12 ft lbs, no leaks. BTW, I'm not sure if that matters, but the factory installs the thermostat first and then the gasket.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Many things

Quality replacement gasket

I installed a new thermostat on my 1993 Mazda Miata and used this gasket to replace the old one. The fit was perfect and the gasket material looked high quality. a small amount of RTV on both sides of the gasket during installation and still no leaks!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not sure

DO NOT BUY - Replacement parts

I bought two, both failed a few days after installation. The screw holes for the T-Stat case are just too big to clamp the case properly. I would tighten the thermostat housing bolts and the gasket would break. After those two gaskets failed I installed a Beck Arnley 039-0037 gasket which is holding up great. Mazda Miata 1991.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • unreliable

Not suitable for Hyundai Elantra 2.0

Hyundai Elantra 2009 (GLS or sedan, HD version with 2.0 engine). It should be an OEM replacement. No, that is not so. It's much wider than OEM (but that's ok). The holes are too far apart, but the gasket can still be fitted. The center hole is slightly smaller than the normal hole (should be 54mm - smaller). But still acceptable. What is unacceptable is its thickness. It is self-adhesive on one side. OK why not, it's easier to install if you clean the surface. Otherwise, don't expect the glue…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Clarity
