💦 Aqua Pump Review

The dealer wanted $299 for the same part. Easy installation, took about an hour. Fit and finish were perfect. No problem. Still works great after a few months!

Item received on time. After replacing the water pump with a NAPA brand pump, which failed after 3 months, I ordered a Gates pump. A few months later no problems. It seems to work quietly.

Unusable piece of metal, very cheaply made. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT purchase this item. Installed by an ASE certifying technician on 12/22/2014 and the pump bearing failed on 1/28/2015, coolant leaking everywhere. Very disappointed with this product, will never buy again.

The pump claims to have a limited lifetime warranty which usually means a free replacement but Gates says Revain is not an official dealer, bought the pump on 08/29/2019 , installed 5/5/20, failed 8/17/2020. Deadline to return the pump, he should have known if it seems too good to be true, it probably isn't. The price was great so I decided to give it a try, usually Gates is a pretty good product. This was one of the cheapest water pumps for my car ('09 Vibe/Matrix 1.8L) but it looked exactly like the OEM pump that came out. Let's hope it's better quality than the OEM, which only lasted 28,000 miles and long enough to be out of warranty. Gates is a brand I've used before, so I was comfortable choosing them over more expensive pumps. They also have a reasonably helpful website. The store charged $500 to install a new one.
