Description of πŸ”’ Silverton Version of Gateway Safety 22GY79

Tough, industrial design; safety eyewear that looks as tough as it protects. Two options: choose the temple version for the versatility of a spectacle or choose the adjustable strap version for a more goggle-like fit. OptiFit foam lining features a tapered design for a better seal around the eyes. Venting channels along foam minimize fogging.

A good buy for first responders or hospital staff.

I got them for work I'm a paramedic and the ones we get fog up and scratch so easily. I've found that if you spray anything on it other than a glass cleaner, the fog resistance goes away over time. I've noticed that any mask that doesn't have a good seal on the face will fog up a bit, but not as much as regular goggles. If I wear a properly fitted N95 or respirator they do the job! Very convenient.

Pros
  • Robust industrial design; Goggles that look as strong as they protect
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

Good reason I bought them

My eyes water terribly in winter from the cold and wind . I needed untinted goggles when going outside before/after daylight and shoveling or shoveling the car. My eyes never watered in these glasses, and the only time my eyes fogged up was when I was shoveling in a sweat. I took it as a signal to take a break. So for my goal - to keep my eyes from watering in the winter cold and wind - this is exactly what I needed. I'm about to buy a second pair.

Pros
  • Two options: choose the version with temples for versatility of the glasses or choose the version with adjustable strap for a more comfortable fit of the glasses
Cons
  • Only available in white

Read the Review/Highest Score So Far

I am the director of environmental protection and safety in a larger company. I have bought many different pairs and styles of goggles to try with my face masks. I test all pairs indoors/outdoors/hot/cold/humid areas/air conditioned rooms etc. Great goggles and fog lights are the least I've found. The rest are my comments on an Extremis goggle. These were the most expensive glasses I've ever bought and the one I had the most problems with. I've had a $5 pair from another brand that have held up

Pros
  • OptiFit foam liner is tapered for a better fit around the eyes
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
