Terrible quality pears. Don't last and break.

I have a large lamp in my living room that requires 150w bulbs. It uses a dimmer, so in theory the bulbs should last much longer (dimming the bulb to 50% roughly quadruples the life since the temperature is so low). I hardly use the light and yet these lamps go out after about 100 hours. They're also defective - one just had the solder on the tip of the bulb falling off. Complete nonsense. It's just a light bulb - 150 year old technology - and they can't get it right. Makes me angry.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Negative is available

Waste of money - for a maximum of two months.

I originally bought these to compensate for the harsh white light from the LED that came with the lamp in which I use two 150 watt bulbs. From what I've read most of these bulbs should last around 6 months: the last two I've used didn't last more than two months. The last one just blew last night and I just ordered 150 watt soft white LED bulbs (equivalent). If I still have such non-LED bulbs in my closet I will use them, but I will not buy such bulbs again. Don't buy them, they're a waste of…

Just what I needed, I thought.

With the bulbs giving way to manual phones, I was happy to buy four packs. They are very economical and the lamp you take conducts all the heat. Edit: After receiving this item in the first half of April and writing a five star review in May, I've just put the final piece in my lamp. Burning out three light bulbs in such a period is unacceptable. If you want something permanent I wouldn't go for these. I don't like the bluish light from CFLs, but hopefully it will last longer.

Pros
  • Ordinary everyday light
Cons
  • Not sure

Very bright, soft white light - worth reading!

I recently spent 15 minutes in a large store looking for lightbulbs with over 2000 lumens. There were no non-dimmables. (My lamp doesn't dim so I don't need that feature. I'm not sure what level it will give anyway.) So I decided to order online. Previously, I used a 180-watt, 2100-lumen GE Reader bulb. This took about the expected 0.7 years. I could not find this lamp for sale anywhere. The readers I found produced fewer lumens and cost $9 per bulb. Then I found these lamps on the internet…

Pros
  • 2680 lumens provides bright bright light
Cons
  • Crumpled

DANGER FIRE HAZARD The Best Incandescent Bulbs

I bought my 150 and 200 watt incandescent bulbs and others from AMAZON. I use the 150 in a lamp post that holds two 150s. they were pretty reliable. I bought the last batch on October 30th and three of the four have blown so far. Below is a photo of the last burnout. I sat right there and heard a pop and hiss. Looking up, I saw a foot-long flame burst from my lamp. The lamp base and socket have melted. the previous burnout had exploded when this one exploded, but not the flame. They were made…

Pros
  • Application: Table Lamps, Wall Lamps and Standard Fixtures
