In my bedroom, all sockets on the ground floor are controlled by a switch, which can be very inconvenient. Most of these socket extenders plug in at the bottom with a plastic stabilizer at the top, meaning the entire set is controlled by one light switch and cannot be used at night when the lights are off. Luckily, I found this one that does the opposite, allowing me to charge more than one thing a night.

I bought this after replacing my old bathroom clock radio with a new radio/CD stereo and felt the need to use a surge protector. I had a 6 faucet outlet because my bathroom only had 2 outlets which wasn't enough as I also use hot rollers and curling irons. I also didn't want any lighting (green and/or red) and it leaves a clean look in my bathroom. Exactly what I wanted and needed.

I bought two of these, forgot the first one didn't work. At the moment I have two light plugs in my sockets, they just fall out far enough to break the connection. This type of multi-plug product has historically always had a support rod that goes into the wall outlet. I have to wonder if it really protects against surges? I won't use it as it may not be safe. I used a couple of 3 outlet surge protectors in my house. They were fine except the two LEDs on them were too bright for my bedroom. I was fed up with light pollution and wanted to darken my room, so I looked for non-LED surge protectors. Little did I know that the vast majority of such devices have one or more LEDs. May be a little thinner but doesn't protrude further than the cord. It is also nice that there is nothing on the floor, which makes cleaning easier.
