Type of review

I like that it is specifically designed to connect to an electrical device and has an audible signal instead of a light signal which would be useless. I recently had a problem with a subsystem containing a compressor. This failed, possibly due to surges from a thunderstorm in the Central Florida area. It was probably a $20 part, but the labor cost raised the repair to $200. Hope this problem doesn't occur again. I will update the review if there is anything to share.

Pros
  • Stay protected. No longer wondering when the surge protector has expired out of reach, because with a single outlet GE wall filter, the alarm will sound until it is unplugged from the wall.
Cons
  • Reliability

GE does NOT recommend use with a refrigerator

This is a GE product but GE Appliances is no more part of GE. GE Appliances says their refrigerators should NOT be plugged into a surge protector. They have a built-in surge and restart shutdown feature. The surge protector stops the surge, but the refrigerator doesn't work because the outlet is disconnected. This creates the possibility of your food going bad and melting the ice in the ice maker on your floor. I will NOT be using this with my GE Cafe fridge. Get surge protection for your whole

Pros
  • Sound the alarm - the alarm goes up to 88 decibels so you can hear it when the surge protector needs replacing
Cons
  • Some troubles

Fits right in the socket. perfect for all devices

I have purchased several GE single outlet surge protectors. They claim to protect the connected device from surges up to a total energy of 1080 joules and also offer a $100,000 warranty on connected devices. I am fortunate that I have never lost an electrical device or appliance due to power surges. But that surge protector is a cheap insurance policy ($8). I like the good fit and the thoughtful design. I can't comment on performance as I haven't tested it with a power surge.

Pros
  • Space Saving Splitter - this single outlet grounding splitter uses only one outlet and allows the use of another wall outlet
Cons
  • No automation

Surge protector with useful end-of-life alarm

Alarm is useful to warn that you are no longer protecting be able. With typical surge arresters, who pays attention to the glowing LEDs, especially when they can't be seen. It's not worth paying $100,000 for equipment damage at all. It was written to exclude almost every possible claim. If the surge voltage is strong enough to destroy the surge protector, the warranty on the damaged device will be void. as working, no claims will be made if your hardware is nevertheless damaged. Do not rely on…

Pros
  • Sets off an alarm - alarm volume reaches 88 decibels so you can hear it when the surge protector needs replacing
Cons
  • Doubtful
