GE WD18X10026 Pump Housing Review

Three of these were sent to me and then sent back. ALL HAVE WRONG. If you shine a flashlight from the outside in at the bottom corner near the outlet of the check valve, you can see cracks in the molding when looking inside the product. Tears don't spill to the end, but the fabric is clearly vicious and thin. I don't need a leak on my wooden floors.

I replaced this part in my dishwasher because a mouse ate my previous one. I did it myself because the mechanic and part used to cost over $150 for a replacement. It was sort of a replacement job as I had to remove the dishwasher, turn it over and cover it with a mesh to keep future mice out. It has worked pretty well so far and my wife loves having her dishwasher back. Definitely worth it if you're a little accommodating.

Used to replace the original casing which was peeling off and covering all dishes with white particles. It took me about 2 hours to do all the work (disconnecting the hard wiring, tubing, removing the block, then reconnecting the wiring and tubing). Now the device works better than ever and all the dishes are sparkling clean. The reason for only 4 stars is that the original GE part is made from the same material that started to degrade in the first place.

Almost not sure if this is the correct part as the photo looks like a large round hole could be cut at an angle. It is not. Installs and replaces the cracked original. A few things I'd like to know before I start: 1) You don't need to unplug the wiring at the front of the washing machine if it's plugged into the wall. The cord was long enough to unplug the washing machine and then turn it off. 2) It's much easier to unplug the water inlet hose under the sink than under the washing machine. All…

Excellent spare part. Be absolutely sure you're getting the right thing. Made a mistake on mine which resulted in an additional 2 day delay in repair. Otherwise a very easy installation. Use this opportunity to clean the sump, directional water jets, etc. Mine was full of junk - bits of toothpicks etc. Don't ask me how they got there but they clogged my jets. I'm sure this silicone-like flex shell will absorb a lot of noise and keep our more expensive 8 year old GE Profile dishwasher running smoothly and quietly. But I'd trade a little rumble for something more chemical resistant. The old multi-port mud shoe became soft, sticky, and eventually died off completely.
