Easy job for the inexperienced

I had a couple of vintage lamps that I liked but the wiring was a bit dodgy so I bought 2 of them. I had never converted a lamp before and was a bit concerned if I could do it and be safe afterwards. The instructions were so clear that I felt absolutely confident that my first (and second) rewiring job was done perfectly and we had like new lamps. The materials are of very good quality. Don't be afraid to work with these sets.

EXCELLENT 3-way lamp replacement set!

This is a great offer. If I bought all of the components individually at my local hardware store it would cost me over $30. High quality components. There was enough space under the nest inside the case to tie a securing knot. The harp is slightly higher. than the ones I replaced, but the lampshade was long enough that this wasn't a problem. This can be a problem with a shorter lamp with a short shade (lamp socket and base exposed). I was really impressed with this kit. There was even a spareโ€ฆ

I hate lamps - lampshades

Here's the thing. I really hate lamps. They're always on the go and easy to trip over and destroy, but... my wife LOVES the lamps. It's the only kind of lighting she's ever wanted to use. When one day her favorite lamp stopped working, I ordered this kit to fix it. The kit works like a charm. It was really very easy to do. I'm not a great mechanical or electrical genius and I was able to figure it out, so I'm sure you can too. And now you know how I won husband of the year. well that andโ€ฆ

Solid Shade Lamp Kit

I needed a 10 inch harp and knob so I could put the shade on a cheap flea market lamp. This complete set was only a dollar more than a regular harp, so I'm glad I found it! Pros: - instructions were very simple - comes with everything you need - the harp is strong and easy to adjust - long cord with thick insulation and a good polarized plug - socket and switch are reliable and work great with 3-way bulbs - overall, much better quality than the gear that was on the old lamp.

I could not feel the ridges on one side of the lead wires

I could not feel the ridges on one side of the lead wires. So it happened that the "grooved" neutral conductor was labeled in black on the side, but I'm not sure if that's always the case. My 25 year old brass stiffel lamps were a bit difficult for the hobbyist to make because they were wide/narrow at the base. half wide, then very narrow. It was difficult to get the wires through. So I attached the end of the electrical cord to a straightened metal bracket (hard to find) and fed the cordโ€ฆ

The kit has it all - just check the size of the wiring!

I have an old lamp from my grandparents that I use next to my bed. After they used it and then I used it, it eventually stopped working. This is a beautiful lamp but for me it all depends on who used it. Bought this kit to replace a 50+ year old outlet and wiring. Unfortunately I can't use it for this lamp, but I have another one that I hope will work with it. The tube that the wire runs through is small, very small. I'll either have to find smaller wires or take the bulb apart and try theโ€ฆ

Success without any previous electrical knowledge!

I'm recently widowed so I'm learning a lot of new skills. The lights in my bedroom stopped turning on and off and after finding out how much new lights would cost I decided to give it a try. Since the instructions don't say how to disassemble the lamp, I found a great video on You Tube (whttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD1neO1rmdIould). I replaced the cords and sockets in my lamps in less than an hour. (Second in about ten minutes!) If I knew more about this process, I would know that I reallyโ€ฆ
