Great fit feel sturdy

I am a professional mechanic and my son is starting as a mechanic also so I gave him my old Matco set and bought these for me since he is going to be doing it longer than me I am going to retire next year. I am impressed with the quality of these considering to replace the matco set with matco would have cost me 520 dollars. The matco set is 25 years old and held up Fantastic but for the money these seem great. If I break one I will just replace it with a matco. So far they have been doing…

Pros
  • Optimized for heavy-duty use
Cons
  • May cause pain or discomfort during extended use

All the right sizes, good quality

I've been using Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches for a few years, and they're my go-to tool for a wrench. Because of that good experience, I didn't hesitate to order this 1/2" drive impact set. I was looking for good quality and a certain range of sizes. An inch and a half is as big as you need in a half inch impact socket, and this set has it. The inch and five sixteenths lets you cheat on a 33mm, and the inch and three sixteenths lets you cheat on the 30mm.These sockets have a nice smooth…

Pros
  • Works great anything gear wrench is well made. Good quality you get what you pay for
Cons
  • Can be difficult to clean

Great for the money

I’ve been using these for 6 months now and they have been great, I use them on a Snapon 3/8 electric impact mostly on a daily basis and haven’t had an issue with one yet.

Pros
  • Socket Wrenches
Cons
  • May not be suitable for heavy-duty applications

Awesome set in my review

Great set with only 1 skip on 20. Other sets start from 7 and stop at 19, but this goes to 21 which is awesome. Love that it is Cr-Mo

Pros
  • Very good tools for the money seems to work as they should
Cons
  • May require significant force to loosen bolts

Definitely a competitor with high end name brands, World Class

I'm a 30+ year auto tech, spent 10's of thousands on tools over the years. The Gearwrench brand is as good as or better in some cases as the top 2 brands in my field.

Pros
  • buen producto rápido entrega
Cons
  • Can be difficult to use in low light settings

Gearwrench is the best.

I absolutely don't need this whole set but I'm a fan of gearwrench and I needed 4 of these so I figured why not.Specifically I needed a 22mm to remove a super over torqued and red loctite covered crank pulley bolt from a 1mz in a Lexus. I put a 40" breaker bar behind this socket and 2 guys stood on it to break the bolt free. Not so much as a scratch on the socket. So overall it's a great set to have. Overkill for my needs but its nice to know I won't have to think twice about breaking free even…

Pros
  • Love it wish I had bought it years ago. Works great!
Cons
  • May cause hand injuries if dropped

Ok but could easily be better

There is no uniformity in location of embossed size stamp in relationship to white product info on baseEven when located, Size is also difficult to read because it is same color as socketThis really matters when I tell someone to get a 12mm swivel socket as an example. They have no clue what they are looking for and sizes could be anywhere on socket plus they are difficult to see embossed in socket but black

Pros
  • Very shocked by this product. It's very sturdy and high quality.
Cons
  • May damage bolts if used improperly

Item will most likely arrive damaged

Product arrived damaged and the case was broken which was a bummer. The sockets were thrown around and scratched like crazy due to the shipping. Wasn’t really happy with how it arrived and the condition of the sockets for what I paid

Pros
  • Increases productivity
Cons
  • May not grip bolts tightly enough

Set was not complete when it arrived

When I received this set I was excited to open it. The case was nice, seemed in perfect unmolested. Sadly the first thing that I notice was that the largest socket (36mm, one of the main reasons I chose this set) was not engraved. Upon closer inspection it wasn’t even a 36mm. They had sent the set with two 33mm and no 36mm. I’m timid to thing about the quality control of the sockets if the can’t even package them correctly. I’m trying to contact Gearwrench for an exchange now.

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • May not meet safety standards

Shut up and buy it.

This is a very nice heavy duty socket set. You'll know that's true the first time you try to lift the case as it is 27 lbs. That's more than 3 gallons of milk in one hand so very heavy for 28 sockets. There are only two minor things that kept me from giving 5 stars. Number one is the sockets do not lock into their position in the case, they just sit here making it easy for them to be jostled around. Secondly, there is also no foam insert inside the case which also allows the sockets to move in…

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • May not be compatible with other tools

I have the equivalent set of SAE 1/2" impact sockets from Gearwrench. They were made in Taiwan. The sockets are much more durable than these metric sockets made in China. I haven't torn any of either set up yet and have done some pretty serious impacting with them on truck lugs and blowout preventer bolts. These are fairly large nuts with plenty of applied torque on them, so you have to beat and bang on them to get them loose. The 36mm socket has some indications on the drive side from…

Pros
  • The markings are wearing off very quickly and the holder is pretty flimsy. But they work fine.
Cons
  • Doesn't come with a case

Definitely worth it had a few months before writing this

Love this set as it was a pretty good "complete” set it was a steal for the amount of sockets come in it with a Gearwrench lifetime warranty. The one I use on a daily basses like 19,21,22mm are starting to get a bit ate up from all the daily abuse from the last 2-3 month (waited a while to write a accurate review on performance as well.) but like I said they starting to get ate up starting being the key word. they Still got a long life ahead of them from what I can tell just wanted to write an…

Pros
  • Wrenches
Cons
  • May be too expensive for its quality

Great socket set for the money

Im a Master Ford Technician, turning wrenches since 2004. I have tools from all brands, from snap-on to harbor freight. Some tools are worth spending top dollar, some are not. These are good example of when you save some cash. These Sockets are great. Fits good on tools and fastners. I have simular set from Matco Adv and paid like double, and thats there cheap line. I think gearwrench tools in general, worth every penny. This socket set paid itself off the first job i use them on, cant go…

Pros
  • Great value for the price
Cons
  • May cause wear on the impact wrench

Fair product for the cost

The rail they come in feels cheap but holds them well. The sockets them selves look like they are nice quality sockets until you use them once. After one time of use with an impact each of the ones I've used so far have started binding to the point where you cant "swivel" them by hand and sometimes wont swivel properly with an impact which kind of defeats their purpose. All in all its a decent set when compared to big name brands like snap on if you compare the cost and they are definitely good

Pros
  • Nice set
Cons
  • Limited size range
