Long and slender, will reach into small recesses where valve springs and retaining washers are located. Arms are hinged At one end so they are practically parallel at the other end at all points. Jaws are adjustable in width and have edges so thin that they can be forced under and over ends of valve spring to compress it for removal. Operating screw makes ratchets and locks unnecessary. Will work on all Briggs and Stratton engines.

Very happy! - Steering and suspension tools

Very good set of fasteners. You will save a lot of money if you use your brain and think during the installation. Instructions are minimal, but think about it and you'll be well rewarded!

Great tool for hanging tools

Handy tool. It arrived nicely packaged. Very helpful in removing and replacing valve springs and retainers in my Tecumseh HMSK80 snow blower engine. This tool is highly recommended when doing minor engine repairs, especially smaller L-head engines.

Valve Spring Compressor

This is the second valve spring compressor of its kind that I have owned. I bought the first one a few years ago and used it until it wore out. This tool is REQUIRED when working with small engines. The trick is to get the "jaw" right. It's small and works very well in hard-to-reach places when trying to get value out of small engines. I've used it on all makes/types of small engines. This is a good tool at a reasonable price that will pay for itself the first time you use it. I recommend it to
