Description of GearWrench 81250 8 Inch Locking Extension
Locking mechanism retains accessories in place preventing accidental release. Slide button design for the sure retention of accessories. Nickel chrome high polish finish for long tool life. Heat treated drop forged alloy steel for strength.
Lockout extender exactly as is. The only downside is that the locking button sticks out quite a bit, making it impossible to reach hard-to-reach places. Unless he does what he's made for
Head latches are fine but my collar broke after 2nd use. Not a big deal, I just have to use a pocket screwdriver or pickaxe to unclip the socket, still works fine just a bit annoying. Fits in tighter spaces without it now, so maybe that's better lol
Exactly what I was looking for. The extension has a good finish and I tested it at 200 foot pounds and it held up great. I have a 6 inch mainly for spark plugs and the red and black ring at the end of the extension really isn't that bulky. It is no wider than the drive socket into which you insert the ratchet. I also found the ring to be no wider than my 3/8 sockets, so if you're concerned about the gap this shouldn't be a problem.
