Inverted text Arduino

These modules work great and are very affordable. BUT, if you use them with Arduino and the popular MD_PAROLA library, you have to be aware that the hardware settings have to be adjusted. In the example sketches for the Parola library, see the line #define HARDWARE_TYPE MD_MAX72XX::PAROLA_HW. Replace "PAROLA_HW" with "FC16_HW" for this display to work properly. It took an hour to dig into google to figure it out, five stars otherwise.

Ideal for Hell Schreiber decoders

These LED dot matrix displays are very easy to use and connect. There are several Arduino libraries for displaying English letters and Arabic numerals, as well as custom sprites. For my application (displaying received Hell Schreiber symbols with a 7x7 dot matrix) I took the code from a library called MaxMatrix and made additional changes to the code. Remember that these modules are intended for the Chinese, whose traditional books (written on bamboo sticks) are organized in such a way that the

Works, but there are different hardware options!

They were easy to get working with Arduino Nano, Uno and ESP8266 NodeMCU microcontrollers. I haven't tried them with a Raspberry Pi yet. I have found that there are at least 2 variations of this product. The first version has gaps between the 8x8 LED arrays and the board with the MAX7219 chips installed on them, occupying an additional 1.5-2 rows on the breadboard. The markings showing IN -> OUT -> are on the top of the board, making it a bit difficult to figure out which end to place the
