AtMega 644 programmed upon receipt, no problem. Postponed for a few months and then tried to flash AtMega 168P and couldn't. AVRDUDE showed that this is a firmware problem on the USBASP. I tried to update the firmware using Uno R3 but could not connect despite known and tested good connections. Something on the circuit board didn't work. It worked once.
