I purchased this item to add hops and additives to my home brew. This works great and is way better than using muslin bags.

The product had a defect in the form of a dent on the rim and sharp edges on the spoon. Overall this is a low quality product for the advertised price.

Works great to keep hops out of the wort for a cleaner pouring and bottling process, especially if you're brewing a hoppy ipa.

Welding on very well done. Don't worry about it getting into the must. We've made 3 beers with it so far and we have LOTS of hop flavor so I think it's safe to say it's water permeable. Super easy to clean.

This thing worked like a champ. When we poured the beer into the fermenter, there were almost no green hops left. I used the included spoon to stir the hops a few times during cooking to ensure that it stirred up during the build and never seemed to stick together. Half the price of a hop spider at most brewery locations. This was a big improvement as we started with less beer and kept most of the beer.

Easily adds hops to a simmering kettle. I used to either use canisters/tea balls (kind of a pain) or just toss pellets in the boil (outlet clogging). It's the best of both worlds. You can still add the hops directly to the boiling water, it just has its own little section so it doesn't go to the bottom of the pot and clog the faucet. I'm not a big Hazy Bro so I add a few ounces max per batch, but there's room for more here.
