Fits perfectly in tools and equipment

I couldn't remove the filter without a key. It is important to remember that a food grade lubricant should be applied to the seal.

Pros

Cons
  • Some bugs

They work great. Fits perfectly

Works great. Fits perfectly. I highly recommend using two at a time in a straight line, as if looking through a periscope. With this use, the filter is much easier to remove and less likely to crack or break.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Good most of the time, but...

Perfect original tool for our water filter tank.

This is the "Original" key that fits our water filter perfectly. We tried the one we bought locally but to no avail. Using two of them together reduces the stress on both, as we can open the filter canister more easily.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • Fine

LOL I learned something after buying this my second wrench.

Hey guys, read the instructions! This wrench works very well (IN CASE YOU DON'T FORGET TO RELEASE THE PRESSURE IN THE FILTRATONE BLOCK BY PUSHING THE RED BUTTON!) For three years I struggled to remove the filter bowl to replace the pressure filter. I broke off the original key trying to disconnect the pressure cup. Yes, I'm stupid, but I found out. laugh at me

Pros
  • Makes you happy
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

I broke one so I bought two more!

I broke the first one that came with the filter. The handle broke in half so I bought two more (imagine). I use two new ones as a T-handle. Like some of the other reviewers, I had trouble unscrewing the filter housing from the mount, even though I turned off the water in my house, opened a few faucets, and relieved the pressure with the red button on the filter mount. The handlebars flex under full load, so that doesn't help much. I also used food grade grease on the filter housing threads…

Pros
  • Certified GOLS
Cons
  • There are nuances

The key does not provide sufficient leverage.

Although the wrench fits the filter housing very well, it has a short lever which does not provide enough leverage to loosen the filter housing. It seems that the previous owners of the house did not regularly replace the element, so the case is very tight. I did my best, depressurizing the filter assembly and such, but even with two people, one holding the pipe and the other turning the wrench, the body wouldn't budge. I thought about banging the wrench hard, but I was afraid of damaging the…

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Low repairability

Perfect fit for my GE water filter

I use my GE GXWH30C filter wrench and it works great. It was definitely the right tool for the job. Not much to say here, other than that it was an actual GE wrench that fitted snugly into the filter housing to remove it. It's plastic so I wouldn't say it's durable, but I'd be surprised if it didn't outlast the life of the filter. The only thing I've seen that might break is the handle if the housing were set too tight, but I don't see that as a likely possibility, especially if the filter is…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Not as thick as other filters

Fits my GXWH30C and GXWH35F filter housings

I purchased two identical filter wrenches to remove the GE GXWH30C and GXWH35F filter housings. I received them today and they fit both cases above. My old GE filter wrench snapped after a few uses, even with no water pressure on the body when removing. Looking at this new one it appears to be made from the same type of plastic and doesn't feel any more durable than the old one. We'll see how long the new ones last. Since I bought two, I plan to use them together to give extra strength when…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • No
