I often paint wild animals in pastels. I use Rembrandt, Carbothello and Faber Castell Pitt pastels. I have found general good quality products. I use their pencils of all kinds. I especially like their black pencils when I draw with pencils and colored pencils. This is no exception. I use them to refine and improve my work. I highly recommend.

I love regular pastel pencils. It works and blends better than any other type of compressed media I've used. I especially love this skin tone blending kit. It just works great. I wish it had the extra white and black as these are probably the two you will be using the most. You can pick it up in the Hobby Lobby, but you can't beat Revain's price and convenience. Five stars for fast shipping and great product.

Great colors. Some don't blend as well as others, but I think that's because it's pressed chalk. This was my first time using something like this so I really didn't know what to expect. If you're looking for something that blends and layers easily/smoothly, this isn't the best option. They don't look like smooth, pencil-like pastels, but I really like the colors.

Let me start first, I'm a fan of general products, but these pastel colors are not very good. As other people have pointed out these are very hard pastels and it takes a lot of effort to apply the material to the paper. When I bought these pastels I was looking at the color palette, skin tones and all that. I don't think they go well together.
