The end that holds the battery has a screw that went in from the side so the batteries are barely held, made quite cheaply, won't buy again.

This is definitely a big time saver as I don't have to fiddle with the cable. It's affordable enough that I think everyone should have it in their toolbox.

I was skeptical that proper grounding is required to work, but this thing works fantastic. I would also recommend buying fuse panel test adapters.

This tester is good for me when I'm lazy and don't want to search for earth to connect the other end of my test lamp. As a professional car audio installer, I like to use this test lamp when testing stranded wires as I can test both power and ground by touching the ground wire and testing the performance of the wire harness.

Very cool and well designed tool at a good price. I like the lack of a ground wire. The earth goes through your body, so you just have to make sure that one hand touches the source of the earth. A light touch on bare metal is enough. I have other circuit testers and use this one almost exclusively. I gave 4 stars because I can't get my buzzer to work. I would recommend this product to others.

After using one of these testers throw away your old cable tester. A bright red light and beep lets you see and hear if your circuit has power.
