I bought this meter to check the humidity in my fiberglass boat. I can't believe how well this works for the price. I compared the readings to a $400 ocean humidity meetup and they're pretty close.

My house had rainwater in three rooms from Hurricane Ida. It was easy to walk a meter across the wall to see where there was moisture and where there wasn't. This helped a lot in only cutting the wall panel where needed. It also worked great on our hardwood floors, which were also affected by the hurricane. I highly recommend this product.

The humidity sensor came in a brand new sealed package, even the 9 volt battery was sealed and boxed. However, when I unrolled it, I was shocked to see scratches on the device, particularly on the sensor surface. Also on the surface of the device were building materials that looked like paint or a bathroom. I will upload some photos.

Very happy with this moisture reader. Need something to read the walls and wooden floor after the roof leaks. I liked the hold function, which allowed me to photograph different readings by moving the instrument over the affected area. The color warning scale was very helpful in finding the wettest spots. Easy to use. With this flat head area meter, there was no need to punch holes in the wall.

My General Tools MMD7NP Moisture Meter was starting to wear out after a few years of daily use, so I decided to see what else was out there. I chose the General MM8 as a replacement because of the price and it had an angled head so I figured it would be easier to use. No way. The tilt head makes reading on floors and ceilings twice as difficult as with the flat MMD7NP. The walls were fine. Also, the MM8 shape is rounded and doesn't fit in as many places as the MMD7NP.
