My General Tools MMD7NP Moisture Meter was starting to wear out after a few years of daily use, so I decided to see what else was out there. I chose the General MM8 as a replacement because of the price and it had an angled head so I figured it would be easier to use. No way. The tilt head makes reading on floors and ceilings twice as difficult as with the flat MMD7NP. The walls were fine. Also, the MM8 shape is rounded and doesn't fit in as many places as the MMD7NP. After trying for a few weeks it worked and died. I ended up putting a battery in my old MMD7NP and a year later it's still working. Ultimately, the MM8 was too bulky and difficult to read for what I use it for most.
