    Doesn't fit well on base

Hose doesn't fit properly on base. If what you're measuring is so important to you that you're measuring it, you probably don't want to pick it up off the floor once the tube falls and breaks. Avoid buying if you only need glass. a tube

    Pros
    • There's something wrong
    Cons
    • sad packaging

    A bit fragile and clumsy

Already two broken. A slight impact on the rim causes a crack and eventually it seems to fail. For the price, I could live with that, but the plastic base is really wobbly, making it difficult to get a clear reading on a flat surface without wiggling the tube on the base until it's vertical. Now I'm going to change it to something else.

The bottom of the product is pretty damn thin

The bottom of the glass cylinder was probably only 32 inches thick so cracked as soon as I put the hydrometer on the bottom so I think I'll have to put a rubber on next one Protective film on it, or a piece of plastic, or whatever so the hydrometer doesn't rip out the bottom because it's so thin it lasted 2 days.

    • Decent performance
    Cons
    • Infinitely sluggish

BREAKD ON DAY 1: Fabric Analyzer

It broke on the first day of use with no drops or dents. I've had others in the past that broke easily, so I'm ordering a replacement right now. They break at the base because the glass is wafer thin and has a sharp 90° angle at the bottom. Now I have found this: 100ml Glass Graduated Cylinder Graduated Cylinder Simple Metric Scale 2 pcs with Brush Sold by: Ronyes Lifescience. Nice and thick glass with a narrowed bottom that doesn't break off.

    Pros
    • New to my collection
    Cons
    • Negative impression

This is a glass tube, everything is fine

Arrived with no cracks or breakage. The base feels a little small for a snorkel, and this raises the snorkel slightly off the bottom, but it feels pretty solid, so maybe that's how it should be. When I received this it was sold and shipped directly from Hobby Homebrew and while there was confusion about the item being shipped and the return process (due to an error on my part in the latter) they resolved the message issue very quickly. Very grateful.

    Doesn't work well with hydrometers

TLDR: The bottom is paper thin and breaks very easily just by touching the floating hydrometer! Mine arrived yesterday so I filled it with a sample from an elementary school and dropped my hydrometer - this beer is almost done (1.005) so the hydrometer went straight to the floor and then the beer suddenly spread all over my counter off - a hovering (!) Areometer sinks to the bottom and knocks through the bottom! After cleaning everything, I inspected it and the thickness of the bottom is…

    MUCH stronger than expected!

I had to buy this to go with my purchase of Home Brew Ohio PF-KS8O-08O0 1X Hydrometer Triple Scale. I do NOT regret it at all. In fact, I recently moved and my wife packed some of my "house" things. I was afraid it would be a loss in value. I unpacked one of the boxes the other day and there was this beauty, just as clean as the day it was packed. buy a new one right away. It might not take the hits, but it certainly handled the hasty stress of our move.

    Nice and big analyzer

This is ideal for alcohol content determination. It's big enough to fit in a hydrometer and thin enough that it doesn't take a lot of alcohol to test like you would if you were using a bottle or similar. Do not throw the hydrometer into the vessel! I read a few comments that said the glass broke when a hydrometer was thrown in. In any case, this is not the right test. Slowly lower the hydrometer into the glass with the alcohol, pressing down slightly and then releasing. It floats back to its…
