Can't justify the price but still great

I mean it's great and very useful. But I find it too expensive. For $200 IMO it should have all the extras, it doesn't feel premium but that doesn't stop it from doing what it's supposed to do. Yes, I would recommend it, but only for those who will be using it regularly, as $200 is a very high price for something of this quality.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Annoying

Reliable and affordable

Photographing from above seems easy, but it's so tedious. I used table mounts and a tripod extender before deciding to invest in this part (thanks Stimmy). This is a SUPER strong mount, unlike the other 2 mounts I've used and there are tons of threads to mount. additional light sources, cameras or microphones. I have recommended this to 10/10 people who regularly do overhead recording.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Fix that bad boy

Hand assembled, no tools required. With a Nikon D7200 and an AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm lens, this is more than enough to support the weight. It's strong, but wobbling is possible, so fixing it to a table if you can't drill is recommended. Captures a space at least 24" x 31". Advantages: The camera can be moved up and down on the mounting rail. The rail is threaded at the bottom so you can move/remove or loosen it from there. Cons: OMG it was expensive! My heart hurts so bad. Also in the instructions…

Very short even at the highest setting.

For a 35mm DSLR body and a pro lens (heavy and rarely short) even the great 50mm 1.8 is too short unless you photograph books. We bought it to shoot a lot of print work on design and packaging. And it's too close to the product to give us enough information. Need at least another 12-18 inches for 70mm lenses or smaller. Longer ones can be shot with small books, coins, etc. Not universal. We're building one. For the same price, you can use pre-drilled metal tubing and c-channel for robotics and…

OH100 saves lives

I do a lot of reviews for a gadget magazine in a small office, so I was always looking for a simple setup that would allow me to create quick videos for our readers. The Glide Gear OH100 and OH150 were particularly interesting. The first seemed ideal for smaller projects. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to put this all together. The stand is more than capable of holding my iPhone, GH5 and flashlights. The height can also be easily adjusted. As others have said, it can rock if…

Impressive fit and finish

I was looking for a solid suspension to create top-down instructional videos. I needed something more stable than an arrow stand, but that would take up less space than a bipod connected to a beam solution. The Glide Gear OH100 met my needs and I bought it after some thought as this product goes a little beyond the usual photo and video extortion. However, when it arrived, my initial sticker shock dissipated. First, the packaging of the product was very high quality and all parts arrived with…

Exactly what I was looking for!

This is one of my best investments! I've shot videos that required the camera to be tilted towards my desk and so far I've used standard tripods. It's been a long road to get here, I just never wanted to spend any money, but as I got more involved with my videos and my needs grew steadily, it became inevitable. In short, I'm so happy I decided to spend the money on it! It is very well made, very sturdy but not too heavy. It was easy to assemble, easy to move, and set up the rig exactly how you…
