The lamp has been installed above the kitchen window and looks good. Even without the included instructions, installation was easy. My big problem is that it gets very hot within a minute of turning it on. I'm feeling a little uncomfortable, so I won't be using it that often. I would return it but have no issues after fitting it and disposing of the packaging and old bracket. Revain has lured me back in with a not so good product.

I bought this light to replace a very ugly fluorescent light in my new eat-in kitchen. I replaced the bulbs with equivalent 75W LED bulbs that only use 7W per bulb. Only 1/10 of the power needed and they don't heat up. Note that the base is only 4.5 inches in diameter. Seriously, this was the most durable lamp I've ever installed. The hood is too small. It barely closes the box, and if your box is even a quarter inch from the drywall, there isn't enough room to screw the bracket on. In addition, the assembly of two glass parts is really tedious. A useful trick is to place the lightbulb in a larger clear jar and secure the lightbulb in place. The light itself is pleasant. However, it wasn't easy for this first timer to settle down. I suppose if you knew something about it, it would all be very simple.
