The 20 gallon model is too boring for a 5 gallon tank.

The light output is very very weak, even in my 5 gallon aquarium this 20 gallon light makes it it somehow darker, the lighter. Compared to the standard lamp on the lid, it only seems to work at night, even at maximum brightness. The description says this lamp is 15 inches long, but it is actually only 10 inches long. Even if it were 15 inches, I'm not sure if it would be bright enough. Maybe a bad LED batch? The controller is fine, but that wasn't thought through either. It switches from black…

Good light but very expensive for the coverage it offers.

This is a good light for those with a beginner Glofish tank and the light cycle modes are fun but it doesn't really change. Has 4 settings; There is a full (daylight) setting, a blue only setting, a violet/ultraviolet only setting, and a cyclic blue and violet setting. I wish it had more combinations like purple and blue light together or just white light. Also, according to the description, the coverage isn't that bright or great. False advertising - NOT enough for a 20 gallon tank!

Don't believe the labels and packaging, this light will never be considered adequate for a 20 gallon aquarium. The different lighting modes are very nifty on their own and have cool effects on the tank, but the light bar itself is only 10 inches long. It's not even half the length of most 20-gallon aquariums, but half are very deep -- too deep for this light to illuminate well. The problem is compounded by the fact that it's an LED light, meaning it doesn't emit much outside of the LED panel…
