Too heavy to fly. I bought these and plan to use them for the holidays, the butterfly wanted to raise my fist, the elastic snapped. Instructions say to twist the rubber band 50-100 turns. 1. Butterfly, I spun 50 turns, when I let go it just fell to the ground, so I tried again. This time when I rotated the tape, it broke at about the 40th turn. I tried 3 more and each broke before I had the recommended 50 turns. I am very disappointed and will most likely be returning this purchase.

Pictures for this item are accurate but can be deceptive. There are a lot of these "butterflies" out there, but that's because they last for no more than 4 or 5 uses. They are well thought out in terms of design but very poor in terms of durability. This is a waste of money, time and materials, since the mechanism that makes them "fly" is intelligent but flawed. The rubber band that powers the butterfly wears out very quickly (why are there so many in the pack?). Clever idea, but unreliable.

Ordered 20 piece set, received 2 of 10 paper designs. All butterflies are the same size. The paper patterns are mostly butterfly patterns, but some are more akin to gift wrap patterns, like Santa Claus or purple dancer/piano and the weird crescent moon. Butterflies curl easily. The instructions say to rewind 50-60 times, but the rubber band tends to break beyond 50 turns. Don't worry, just replace with rubber bands of the same size.
