Great performance and easy to take with you

So far I'm very impressed with this panel. Very well built (like all of my GoalZero gear), comes with a built in handle and carrying case so it's easy to transport and set up. When I tested it I got 74 watts from the panel (I'm pretty happy with those numbers as it was around 7pm in Oklahoma with some high altitude clouds). The stand is a great addition, I don't have to search for something to support the records like I did with my old Boulder records. It would be nice if it had a little more…

It could be better - solar and wind power

I bought this to charge my Goal Zero Yeti 1000 and while it works there are a couple of major downsides. The legs are fixed in size and have no locking mechanism. In principle, there is only one position available to you if you do not want this. When loading, I found the system to be extremely inconsistent. It charges but for no particular reason the input drops to zero then I have to "reset" it to charge again. I was expecting it to be a plug-and-forget system, but spent a lot of time making…

50 watt solar panel with 1000 watt battery

So I finally hooked up a 50 watt solar panel to my 1000 watt battery. Now my WiFi runs entirely on solar power (router, modem and network switch). So if the power goes out, I still have internet. However, it seems that on a cloudy day the power is very low, say 10-15 watts on a 50-watt panel. Not bad, but not great either. If it falls below this level, it stops working. My 1000Wh battery shows 700Wh when my WiFi is under constant load. If I don't have any sun at all, that means it lasts almost…

not bad but expensive

Goal Zero products are expensive. You can buy a 100W solar panel for a lot less; see, for example, Renology. I have one of their pads and it's great and thanks to a custom adapter from Goal Zero it plugs directly into my Yeti for charging. So why this one? A number of different reasons; There are two Yeti, so now you can charge each one at the same time instead of one at a time. This one has some very serious framing and protection for the panels. The connector is specifically designed to…

Really good build quality, good value

People complain that Goal Zero panels are a rip off, but when you look at other comparable options, they actually cost less money than Renogy folding panels. Monocrystalline high-quality panels, solid aluminum body with reinforced corners, comfortable carrying handle, solid feet, waterproof junction box - all this creates a solid panel. It's not very light, but the folded format makes it easy to fold and carry. When I hooked it up to my Yeti 1000's MPPT input, I was able to squeeze out up to…

Works well, easy to connect and solidly built

I've just used two of these briefcases (2 x 100w) on Burning Man and they've worked great. I put them on the trailer and didn't even face the morning and evening sun. They put out about 150 watts (combined) during the day, which was almost perfect for the Yeti 1400 battery that I also bought, coupled with the fact that I connected the Yeti battery while the trailer generator was on. I might add a third block in the future but so far two have been fine. Although I attached them to the trailer…
