The drawer lid works great but I was disappointed that it started falling apart after two uses, especially as it's not cheap. 3 straps started to come loose and 2 completely unraveled. If you purchase this product I would leave tape on the ends of the straps or burn more of it to keep them from unraveling.

I love that I managed to stop my 4 month old Siberian Husky from jumping out of her cage while we were gone all day. The only thing she ate was the black threads you use to tie her to the cage. It's a nuisance if you're in a hurry or you're just one person, but I really like this concept and I hope you can somehow make stronger straps than that would be great!

We bought this for a number of reasons: 1. to keep one of our pups out of the kennel and 2. to provide shade and shelter when using the kennel outside. It works great for both! Worked great! Until my pup figured out how to chew on the parts that attach him to the pin and opened up the patch and climbed out. I still recommend it as a great product and if I had it on a higher grip it probably couldn't get to the attachments. I tried an IRIS pen because she learned to eat through a mesh lid made for her. A good shell - with terrible straps. The straps are thin, cannot be fastened and will not stay attached. Had they stayed attached, those straps could have been a lifesaver. As it is... no. Since the case is hard, I'll put on my straps, but I don't have to. The simplest solution might be to sew the straps to the desired length and then use them to snap the lid onto the xpen with the buttons. Very high quality handle cover material. Built-in corners for easy installation. The straps and buckles for attaching the top to the handle work perfectly. but only okay. Elastic bands with hooks would be MUCH better. Also, the straps are difficult to thread into the buckles and need to be cut at a 45 degree angle to make this easier. I tried my new ex pen case at an outdoor show this weekend. It was easy to attach the lid to the sides of my previous pen, although I wish the straps had snap buckles (much like a dog collar) rather than having to thread through each strap.
