An easy to use router and great for the average user.

I've been using it for a few months now and I have to say it's the best router I've ever used. (for the average user) PROS: Amazing range with very strong signal throughout the home. We used it in a 2 bedroom apartment and never lost full signal. In our 4 bedroom house we may need an extension cord but only because we need to place it around the house. The signal goes down well but doesn't reach the far corner of the house in the downstairs guest room. It's hard to explain, but a regular router

updated 3/2019 after two years of use.

03/25/2019 - update after two years of use absolutely no questions. not when the power goes out, never nothing. Even after adding additional cameras, smart TVs, etc. to our smart home, everything always works as expected. It never lags, no buffering on any devices. You don't have to worry about updates as they are made regularly even if you don't know about them. The application is very useful, never freezes, always works. The one time I called customer service the experience was great. Thisโ€ฆ

Extremely disappointed - almost can't believe it.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I am so deeply disappointed in this product that it really hurt me, which is what Google associates its name with. I go Pro and ConsProsSetup was as easy as described, cool little trick with the phone talking to the router, very neat. The update took about 5 minutes to download, so it's not scary. Looks - looks great! The thin LED ring on top, the cool little cylinder shape, and the coating (blue part) are all very well done. Options - The Google Wi-Fi app offersโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Not bad but...

I have been running my own technology company (Managed Service Provider) for over 15 years. We serve around 15% of our clients as resident clients (usually employees of our business clients) or they are domestic entrepreneurs. We are always asked which WiFi routers to use. In our view, the best solution is a wired router plus access point. The lifespan of a router is typically 2 to 3 times the lifespan of a good access point's radios. Also, if you're dealing with a large house (say, 3,000โ€ฆ
