My niece struggles with the standard metal back pins but these are perfect for replacing and easy to attach and carry the pins.

The metal inside was still changing color. It's definitely not silver. They are comfortable and hold up quite well. If you are allergic to metal, do not buy!

I would return it if Revain provided a return function! They do NOT hold positions! I lost an expensive hairpin because of this pad. I found the pad but not the earring. Those substrates were expensive too, but I'm going back to metal substrates! Don't waste your money and don't lose your earring.

A few months ago I ordered a new bead set that came with these new backs. I've never used them, but they were surprisingly comfortable to wear. I accidentally tore off one of the backs and lost it. The bead company didn't have a replacement so I was looking for another option when I found this one. The back of the earring is surrounded by a half transparent silicone ball.
