Gowhoops + Arduino + Si5351=WSPR Beacon

Gowhoops works with Arduino Mega and the Si5351 frequency synthesizer to transmit a 20m WSPR beacon. Works great, very economical.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Not sure

Works but look at USB GPS

This device worked as advertised on Raspberry Pi 3 but when 1PPS was not needed USB GPS was much easier to get working faster fixed on GPS had less position errors.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • repair

Raspberry Pi 3A+ Integration Excellent

Of all the components I had to learn how to communicate and work, this GPS module was the fastest, but you'll have to be patient and wait for it to tell you what wrong is. quickly! I use it to synchronize time from satellites on a private network with no internet connection. Works perfectly!

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Reliability

Not as advertised in antennas

The module I received is exactly as pictured. The GPS module has the same ublox NEO-6M sticker. This device does NOT respond to ublox commands (tested with ucenter and other software). This module does not output NMEA data correctly. This gives the position, but the software has problems with the time and position data. I have other Mini NEO 6M GPS cards that work correctly. It's not like this. If you want a genuine ublox card, DO NOT buy this. Gowoops has not responded to my previous inquiryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not bad

Builds a great Raspberry Pi 3 based NTP server!

This GPS device works well when connected to a Raspberry Pi (Pi 3 in my case). Please note that some setup is required to work with the Pi 3 as the Raspberry staff have made changes to the way the Pi 3's serial ports are used (there are many websites with all the details on this , what you have to do). This GPS module allowed me to turn my Pi 3 into an accurate NTP (Network Time Protocol) server. It took me about two hours to assemble the interface cable and get it up and running. GPS easilyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I have no major complaints about it, everything is fine

Highly recommended, would buy again

Installed in a handheld scanner (Uniden BCD436HP) that uses GPS and an internal frequency database with geotags to know which local frequencies to scan. The output is TTL, so I also had to buy a TTL RS-232 converter module (UPGRADE INDUSTRIES - [1x] MAX232 RS-232 MAX3232 to 3.3V 5.0V TTL Serial UART Voltage Converter Module from UPGRADE INDUSTRIES). The attached photos show how the modules were connected together and installed in the scanner body. When first turned on, it took about 7 minutesโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Lots of things
