My small dogs love this brand

My small dogs love this brand. I have one that is difficult to feed - a picky and easily upset stomach, but this meal was great. She can digest it easily and has no problem with other brands. Plus, she looks forward to getting her food - if her "breakfast" isn't on her plate by 8:30, she lets me know by coming over to yell at me! My other dog has a cast iron stomach and will eat anything.

Great brand, good for drying

I feed my girls a variety of freeze-dried "raw" foods. One of my girls doesn't like it when her food is too heavy because it makes her nauseous. Despite having large chunks, it absorbs faster and is softer than many other brands like The Honest Kitchen. I've found that the cuts of beef in her dish take a while to soften while everything else is settling in. I love Grandma Lucy's other lines like Macanna and Pure Formance :)

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • No automatic feeding

Very disappointed. Not enough chicken!

Very disappointed with this raw dog food! There's very little chicken and it's mostly potato and carrot flakes! Every time I make a bowl I have to manually dig through the bag to find a piece of chicken because there is so little in it! I have 80% of a bag left without the chicken! Delivery took forever too. More than a month. When I actually received and opened it, it was too late to ask for a refund! Very disappointed with the quality. In fact, I just paid $80 for a bag of dried potatoes! Not

Too much garlic. All my dogs have heartburn now.

We don't like it anymore. I've always mixed it with kibble to reduce the amount of garlic, but that worked too. Now my dogs have reflux. I really like Grandma Lucy's idea, but ALL of her formulas contain large amounts of garlic. I understand that garlic can be good or bad for dogs based on what you read BUT I would happily add garlic if I feel like it rather than having it in ALL formulas. I need a pea free food so Grandma Lucy worked on that but now that the dogs have (some) heartburn I…

Great dehydrated dog food. Great alternative to Stella & Chewy's.

I love Grandma Lucy's dog food. My dog, a 16 lb terrier mix, loves it and is quite a picky eater. A 10 kg sack will last a couple of months. I tried this brand on a whim because Stella & Chewy dry food really does come in a can. It's a less expensive alternative and the ingredients are still pretty good all things considered. The company claims that all of the ingredients are human-safe. Here's a great product review that helped me sell. http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/grandma-luc…

Excellent quality, consistency and nutritional value

I have been feeding my dog this food for almost 4 years. The quality was consistent and my dog's health was excellent. When I started feeding her this food her fur became softer and shinier than ever. She is 11.5 years old and you never thought she was that old because of her energy and looks. She is a large mixed race. Most dogs of their type are showing more signs of aging by the age of 11. Her latest comprehensive blood test shows that she is in exceptional health. I attribute a lot of this…

Dog Loves It But Doesn't Look Like Much Chicken

Our 14 lb Chinvini LOVES this food instead of dry pellets. She has a history of bladder stones so we need to be aware of the amount of minerals in her feed. It's no problem to fix it, just add water up to the amount indicated in the chart according to weight and leave for a few minutes and you have a bowl that looks like porridge or soft oatmeal. The price per feed is cheaper or about the same as other grain-free dry pellets of similar quality. The only thing I don't like is the amount of…
