Works great with FreePBX

I was able to set up the device to work with my phone line plus two magic jack lines. The web interface is similar to other Grandstream adapters (eg HT503). I didn't have to restart the device due to freezing or other malfunctions, and the price compares well to other similar products. All in all I highly recommend it.

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • There are cons

Easy setup with Freepbx

Just follow the instructions on the line and run it with 4 Time Warner digital lines. The only problem is that I can't get it to work with 4 trunks and have to use all 4 DIDs on one trunk. called only 1 outside line. I found a line to add to the truck settings but haven't tried it as it works well for what we need as a single trunk.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Socket required

A great way to add regular phone line support in IP PBX

This is a 4 port FXO SIP device. It allows you to add up to 4 regular phone lines to an IP PBX such as PBX in A Flash or FreePBX Distro. It's relatively easy to set up, and Grandstream provides setup instructions on their website. It's also the least expensive 4-port FXO SIP device - most other options don't include support and start at $400. You can get this for around $200.

Pros
  • . Everything is OK!
Cons
  • Expensive

Works well. The setup wasn't that intuitive and the documentation doesn't help much. You really need to know something about configuring SIP to make it work. It doesn't work very well as a standalone device, it's best set up with a SIP server, i.e. H. Asterisk. It works directly with a SIP phone if you only have one phone per line. If you need multiple phones per line, conference, etc., you need a SIP server. I've been using it for a few months now and it works consistently.

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Almost never

Good gateway but poor documentation

Grandstream 4FXO seems like a good gateway for the price; However, getting it up and running with minimal documentation is a real challenge that not everyone is willing to embrace. To set up the box, you need to connect it to a local network using DHCP, and then find out what IP address it's receiving. You have to download the app (which requires some additional programs) and wait a long time for it to recognize the box, which is far from easy. In my work network; I have several CISCO phones…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
