Bought this for my kids to access kitchen countertops. The extra 2 inches of headroom over standard 9-inch chairs is key. Works as it should. As some have pointed out, beware of pinch points, especially with young children who may get their fingers trapped and cannot get out. The stool folds up comfortably and easily enough and my son enjoyed using it, but there are small holes at the top and bottom of each pivoting leg of the stool that close when the stool is opened. There are so many flaws in this design. The unusual number of positive reviews for this product is misleading. When I first unfolded it I could tell it's not strong enough, you can easily kick it with one foot and it will collapse on you before you know it resulting in a fall of only about 12 inches, but still enough to be seriously hurt.
