Nice Little Accurate Square

I needed a little machinist's angle to check the blades and guards on my table and wet saws and it helps, I've read reviews that a lot of CHEAP brands sell here were rejects and JUNK. So I chose Groz Brand because I'm familiar with the name and I know it's been around for a long time. I've checked its edges by placing it on glass and it's correct.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not sure

STEEL SQUARE (01143) 6 " square 0.00028 "

I have no reason to doubt it as it was squarer than I could measure with other squares I have. This is more than sufficient for my purposes. It's not stainless steel, which is fine for what I make. He was well lubricated. I'm happy with that.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Repair

I found it accurate enough to set up my miter saw.

I used this to set up my miter saw, 90 degree bevel angles and adjusted the fence to be perpendicular to the saw blade. I've also used it to fix inexpensive combo squares to make them accurate. for woodworking (they weren't exact when bought). I filed the bearing surface for the slide ruler with a thin file until the combination square was accurate with this constructed square. They were then accurate when checked with a regular pencil test on the machined edge. I cleaned the square of grease…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Drill Kit

GRADE STEEL SQUARE (01143) 6 " Squareness 0.00028 "

GROZ (India) website says (01143) or SS/6G. "From the blade to the face of the workpiece" is listed as 0.00028. I have no reason to doubt it as it was more square than I could measure with other squares I have. That's more than enough for my purposes. It's not stainless steel, which is normal for what I do. It was well lubricated. I'm happy with it.

Pros
  • Exact right angles both inside and outside
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Precise but 6 teeth

11/28/20 GROZ 6" Graduated Steel Square - looks square compared to other squares but has 6 noticeable teeth. There are two good sizes and two smaller ones on the back of the blade. In addition, the top blade size indicator is dented at the 1/16" mark and the case has a dent at the top near the inside corner. Maybe it's not a functionality issue, but oh well. It looks like the manufacturer in India throws them in a big pile before packing.

Pros
  • Graduated Blade Precision Hardened
Cons
  • Drill Pack

Just Perfect

Felt like I was buying it "invisible" since there were no reviews. I wanted a square measured from zero at the inside edge and zeroed from the base to measure vertically. I would think that would be a good idea and assume there will be no problems. However, the only squares I could find on Revain that were measured this way were really (!) expensive. So I ordered this hoping for the best and was not disappointed. It's solid and, as far as I can tell, perfectly square.

Pros
  • Available length: 3 inches
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
