Makes coffee quick and tasty

This moka coffee maker is perfect for camping! My husband knew I needed a daily cup of coffee and bought it for our hike. I highly recommend it, it was fast, very easy to use and clean! I felt like I was in a glamping and not a campsite!

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Hard to say

Wonderful pot: coffee, tea and espresso

I've been using it at home every day for 20 days. Makes great coffee. I get two full cups per pan. After 2 weeks the spot weld of the lid failed. I'm returning the pot and ordering a new one, hoping it's a one-off failure. Without the broken lid, the jug would have gotten 5 stars.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old
Cons
  • some little things

Not 100% Stainless Steel and Poor Construction

GSI's ad for 100% Stainless Steel Construction is misleading as only the lower water tank is steel according to my magnet test. Also, hot coffee water spurted out of the side where the top and bottom are bolted together when you first use it. It wasn't overloaded with fine coffee grounds either, but underloaded with ground coffee in the test run. I've been using moka pots for almost a decade and never had this problem until I used this pan.

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Not Bad

Everything a moka pot should be!

GSI Outdoors 6 Cup pictured between 3rd and 12th Bialetti Cup. Despite what another reviewer said, it's actually stainless steel. The base is magnetic stainless steel alloy for use with induction cooktops. It's a MYTH that stainless steel isn't magnetic. For example, 409, 430, 439, 410, 420, 440, 2205 are all stainless steel magnet alloys. The filling of the overpressure valve is approx. 450 ml of espresso. PSA, you should not fill your mocha past the safety valve.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • No

This thing is the beast!

This is by far the largest stainless steel moka pot on the market. Brews 0.75 liters of high-octane espresso at once. Not sure why this is targeting the camping/hiking market but I don't care. The handles won't melt if accidentally caught by a flame from your stovetop (or campfire), they fold flat to save cabinet (packaging) space and it's a very durable stainless steel construction. It now replaces two separate 6 cup moka pots that I used every morning and I'm super excited about it. GSI may…

  • Worth the money
