This unit works as advertised; provided you pay close attention to the direction without over-tightening the screws. I've used it to stretch paper 5 times already and I'm very happy with how my Fabriano paper now holds LOTS of water! I will change my rating to 5 stars if I can figure out how to matt my pictures now; I lost half an inch around the paper and now it's too small for a standard 16" x 12" mat.

I love this watercolor card and the beautiful bevel it leaves on the paper. And I followed the instructions in the letter BUT after only 3 coats of paint 5 of the 8 screw plates on the back panel came loose. Based on that, expect the remaining 3 to be released soon. You can see that they were only glued on with a little glue, which of course does not withstand normal wear and tear. The build quality is pretty bad. Very disappointed considering the price of this device.

I saw this product in a zoom style watercolor lesson taught by Johannes Vluthus. It seemed pretty expensive compared to the duct tape in the dollar store, but when the stimulus check showed up on my bill I thought what the heck.
