This machine’s cutting width is 17” (much bigger than the 12” models) and cutting capacity is 300-sheets of 20lb bond paper. It has a built-in safety lock mechanism that is engaged automatically to prevent accidental cuts until release. The blade is re-sharpen-able and replaceable. It is constructed of all steel and features a SOLID aluminum alloy back support and side gauge with measurements scaled in standard inches (1/32” resolution) and metric (1 mm resolution). The blade edge is made of high-speed steel (HSS) with the hardness grade of 60-62 on the Rockwell Equivalent C scale (i.e. 60-62 HRC). It will last over 1,000 cuts before requiring re-sharpening or replacement. it is razor sharp and can cut through 300 sheets of 20lb paper stack with a single easy stroke. Equipped with the optional back support/extension table. The back support/extension table extends the back side of the cutter and provides a more well balanced and stable platform for the cutter. It also provides balanced support for the stack to be cut and catches the output from the cutter.

looks good but no assembly instructions

I didn't have a chance to test it because it was difficult to assemble. It comes with parts, tools and a booklet but no assembly instructions. Right now I don't know how to attach the wheel to the rest of the guillotine. it's enabled, but it doesn't work effortlessly. It seems solid, but I'm not sure how easy it will be to use.

Pros
  • Stack and guillotine cutter
Cons
  • Some small things

Very strong materials prone to rusting in humid environments. Not a very good assembly guide. After much trial and error, he cut off all but the bottom 1-3 leaves. I had to use spacers to keep the green plastic rod level. The sleeve it was held in was curved so the plastic handle never stayed level, preventing the bottom 1-3 leaves from completely cutting the length of the blade. Had to return, couldn't use it for my publishing projects.

Pros
  • Cutting and Measuring Equipment
Cons
  • Not sure

Doesn't work smoothly and efficiently.

I agree with JM Happy Face. We just assembled it and it was very difficult to put it together. I hope I can return it. You must spin the wheel at least 20 times to raise and lower the fuse. I have to cut out a lot, and if I roll it up and down a hundred times, I have Popeye-sized forearms. Also, the steering wheel doesn't turn smoothly. It pulls part of the build and will probably wear out when I finish this project. On the plus side, it cuts like butter.

Pros
  • Trimmer and Paper Knife
Cons
  • High Price
