I love this lamp. Great quality, sturdy, works great. Color temperature and brightness are set using rotary knobs on the back of the lamp. The very quiet fan runs on bright settings, but the fan speed varies and as you turn the brightness down the fan slows down/stops (which, to be clear, is a quiet fan and is acceptable at full brightness, but it is a sound to consider).
