This tip is the best for component level PCB repairs

This tip is the best tip for component level PCB repairs. The curve can be used for more surface area on large areas, and the tip is small enough to drag in and under the flat pack.

Pros
  • Excellent tip coverage ensures long tip life
Cons
  • Not the best

Excellent general purpose SMD soldering tip

Excellent general purpose SMD soldering tip. I've used it extensively in a recent project involving several QFP, SOT-23 and 0603 packages. The thin hook shape is also great for catenary modifications and repairs. Easily catches on feet, thin markers, etc., and the tiny tip itself is great for heating tiny targets. However, the unusual shape can be a bit tricky to clean as it gets caught in the wire mesh cleaning sponges.

Pros
  • Higher temperature resistance than T7 series
Cons
  • Repair
