I don't have a Hakko soldering iron. I have Goot RX-71 AS. It goes well with this type of soldering iron, conducts heat very well and tins easily. I've been using it for several months now with no problems.
This is a good tip to work with the Hakko FX-88x series soldering iron. I think it's at least worth mentioning for those who might not know that tips with a less sharp tip are easier to work with when soldering. Other than that, it's a good buy. I also recommend taking some "tip boxes" with you. If you keep your tip clean and well tinned, you won't be replacing it very often at all.
I hope this is not common. I ordered this product which was supposed to be a chisel point. What arrived was a tapered tip in a chisel tip packaging. The package was clearly labeled T18-D08 chisel tip, so I even put the tip under a magnifying glass to make sure I didn't get it. Of course, it was a conical tip in a chisel-tipped package. In any case, I quickly called Revain and arranged for free return shipping on the wrong tip.
