Hamilton Double Deluxe Collar 20 Inch Dogs best for Training & Behavior Aids Review

I bought a Hamilton collar 10-12 years ago. . . and there's more! Sturdy without being bulky. I love the metal grommets that prevent fraying, the durable D-ring, and the separate ID tag ring. I have decided to buy a new color for a German Shepherd puppy. Her neck is about 20 inches in circumference so I bought a 24 inch collar based on other reviews saying it should be bigger. It's perfect for the smallest ear that leaves plenty of room to grow.

We are ordering this collar for our 8 month old boxer puppy. The package arrived on time and was undamaged. We chose the 20 inch collar because our pup has a 15 to 16 inch neck and 20 inches gives her room to grow. However, the 20" collar fits her 16" neck at the last hole and has nowhere to grow. The instructions said to add another 2 inches, which we did. This is a great collar and we have purchased several collars from this company but they have not fitted and fit.

This is a well made collar, but it runs small: 18.5 inches from the material on the buckle side to the very end of the material (not the last hole). Measurements do not include the buckle: Buckle to first hole 13.5 inches Second hole 14.5 inches Third hole 15.5 inches Last and farthest hole 16.5 inches I bought it for $3.70. Not a bad match to see if it would suit my Catahoula Australian Shepherd mix. It's not, but I still love bright red. I gave 4 stars because the measurements are wrong.

This is an excellent collar. Very durable, long lasting, great bright colors. This is my second purchase of this brand of collar for my dog, his first is still in great condition, he just outgrew it. BUT the size is significantly different. My German Shepherd is 22.5 inches where a well fitting collar would normally sit and 23.5 inches. down his neck near his shoulders where a loose collar might fall off.
