Bought as a gift. The quality of this set is very high. The person who received this gift was very happy and pleased with it. I'm pretty sure it has already been used.

Not Play Tools, Real Tools

We used these tools at the Pala Chief Mine in Southern California. We had no idea if they would actually come in handy or if we were essentially buying toys. But other non-newbies had the same tools and we used them. They are sturdy, strong and a good buy. The only tool we didn't have in our kit was a hand rake, and that's useful too.

Great sturdy kit at a great price with everything you need for your outings.

This set contains many useful things for your geological research. I'm just an amateur so I don't hit the rocks every day. But for me this kit was perfect and there's no reason it won't last long. Haven't used a chisel yet but have used a hammer to collect some samples of local conditions. The canvas bag is large and holds a lot. And just today, while browsing through part of the collection, I pulled out an LED-lit magnifying glass (I forgot it was in the set and "discovered" it at the bottomโ€ฆ
