Difficult film good for color

I know R&F products have a good reputation so I was surprised when they were quite difficult to use. A thick film or the like interferes with their easy use. I've tried pulling it off and it won't come off. It's not the same plastic they packaged in a peel-off lid. So if I do something wrong someone will let me know.

Pros
  • Good price
Cons
  • Very expensive

I bought a dozen R&F pigment sticks for only .

I bought a dozen R&F pigment sticks just a week ago and I really love this product. For example, I have attached a collage from my new series called "Cave Art” that I drew today. To speed up the drying time, I simply dip the end of the stick in some Winsor Newton "Liquin Impasto" before scraping it onto the canvas. In fact, I now start all my paintings with my eyes closed to really create an original design. Then I study my design to understand where to go next. I let the design guide me.

Pros
  • colors
Cons
  • obsolete

I have used these pigments before so I knew they would be great but this set exceeded my expectations. Of course they are all transparent and I love working with layers and transparent paint including Mussini oil paints. They may be see-through, but they're super concentrated and long-lasting, and you don't sacrifice vivid colors for transparency. Amazing projects for any warrior artist who is not afraid of bold colors. Plus, they all go together so well. The price here is cheaper than anywhere

Attractive oily, rich and pure material for primary color painting.

I love these pigment sticks (and the translucent R&F set which has less pigment and is therefore thinner/less dense) for encaustic. I find them to be softer, cleaner, and more vibrant than regular oil paints, but they also dry very slowly, with no heat to mix with the wax (which is good as it protects the pencils, which are also protected from moisture). transparent individual plastic tubes with tight caps that do not dry out before use). These chopsticks tend to be pretty messy to use, but…
