Description of Premium Handmade Lokta Card Stock Paper: Tree-Free Vintage Craft & Printing, 8.5x11 inches (100 Sheets, Natural)

HANDMADE CARD STOCK PAPER: 100-Sheet Pack of 8.5 x 11 inch (US Letter), Tree-free Vintage Kathmandu Valley Co. Lokta Paper. Created by hand in the Himalayas of Nepal, following an ancient tradition. FROM THE HIMALAYAS: Strips from the inner Lokta bark are cooked into a fibrous pulp and then spread by hand across boxed screens and set to dry in the Himalayan sunshine, the fibers join, forming the one-of-a-kind Lokta paper. UNIQUE EDGE: Deckle-edge (rough-edge) card stock, great for use in crafts, handmade wedding or party invitations, vintage printing projects, or scrapbooking, the pages contain natural flecks from the lokta bark and a light “screened” texture on the side used to make the paper and the other, a naturally rougher texture. EARTH FRIENDLY: Lokta bushes quickly regrow after being cut, making Lokta bushes a renewable resource. A one-of-a-kind alternative to traditional card stock papers for the eco-conscious adventurer. HANDMADE IN NEPAL: Thank you for supporting a 1,000-year-old Nepali paper-making tradition.

Beautiful Handmade Paper

This paper is amazing! Feckless is perfect, it's white, soft and I love writing on it. Inexpensive and was delivered quickly.

Pros
  • HANDMADE IN NEPAL: Thank you for supporting the 1000 year old Nepalese paper making tradition.
Cons
  • Very expensive

Not made of cardboard

This product is advertised as cardboard, I ordered this hoping to use for wedding invitations, but it is so thin it cannot even support its own weight. I'm not saying this product is useless, but the way it's advertised it's not what I expected. Will return.

Pros
  • ECO-FRIENDLY: Lokta bushes regrow quickly after pruning, making Lokta bushes a renewable resource. A unique alternative to traditional card stock paper for the eco-conscious adventurer.
Cons
  • Something else

If you like the handmade feel this is a great product!

I love this paper! I bought this to turn into a leather magazine and it's great. It's thick enough to use "almost" any pen, and the rounded edge gives it a rustic look. He is very soft. I even ran it through my computer printer to see how it works and has no ink issues. You don't need to process more than 3-6 sheets at a time, it's difficult for the printer rollers to pick up only one at a time when you load a lot. Overall I will be buying this again to make journals and other paper crafts…

Pros
  • FROM THE HIMALAYANS: Lokta inner bark strips are shredded and then manually sorted into sieves in boxes and dried under the Himalayan sun. The fibers merge into the unique Lokta paper.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
