it's solid and there's no reason to think it won't be.

My granddaughter seems to be too small for this (less than 2 years old) and sorts through the beads from time to time. I hope she uses it more when she's a little older. It's durable and there's no reason to think it won't be in good shape in a year or two.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Reliability

Looks nice but the pearls.

Looks very nice, but the beads are very light, so if my child moves one, a lot of beads will come with them if they are not careful. My niece has some beads from Ikea and as it turns out the thick wooden beads I think are heavy enough to move really well and they stay in place once moved, these beads just move.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Useless functions

Great product great price

We bought this just over 4 months ago and our almost 3 year old uses it almost every day. I have no complaints and have not had any quality or durability issues so far. We had no problems with the size of the bills and my daughter can easily move them from one room to another at will. We bought it for the retail price of $12 and I think it was more than fair.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • New competitors are here

When counting also optically

I bought this account as a gift and got a synergistic reality I hadn't thought of. Many children now see the world as colors, not just by tapping on the page, but also by grouping and counting. Years of development, this abacus was a very valuable tool because its color representation was easy to remember. It's surprisingly durable, the size in the photos doesn't reflect its large shape, it's easy to handle for young and old alike and it's very well made. Yes, really. As usual, I give him one…

Pros
  • Everything in order!
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

Will keep going until I find a bigger one

I wanted to buy an abacus to see my boy's interest in it in refresher class. He is 18 months old. This was the hardest (based on reviews on Amazon). I went through all the accounts without thinking about the budget because I wanted them to last. All other pearls seem to fall apart, only this one was delighted. So I bought. Pros Colorful enough to catch his eye Seems durable CONS Smaller than I expected. next row n move them all over. (no matter how careful I am) * I consider myself short so no,

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Minor issues

This is a really nicely made toy. The bright colors, workmanship, and durability were evident the first time I unboxed it. My almost 2 year old daughter is still too young for the stated age (3 years and over) but she is still drawn to this toy. She's starting to mimic counting and saying numbers, so we thought this counting would be a fun way to increase her interest in counting. I'm becoming a big fan of Hape toys because they use water based wood paints, other toy makers use chemical based…

Pros
  • There's something to it
