Review on Hape Rainbow Wooden Counting Bead Abacus | Dimension: 10 x 4.7 x 12.6 inches by Tracy Meyer

This is a really nicely made toy. The bright colors, workmanship, and durability were evident the first time I unboxed it. My almost 2 year old daughter is still too young for the stated age (3 years and over) but she is still drawn to this toy. She's starting to mimic counting and saying numbers, so we thought this counting would be a fun way to increase her interest in counting. I'm becoming a big fan of Hape toys because they use water based wood paints, other toy makers use chemical based paints. These aren't the kind of toys that your child will put in their mouths, but I still feel better about choosing "safer" toys for my child to touch. I was going to give this toy 5 stars but after reading the product packaging I realized this toy was made in China. I just have to trust Hape to do quality control and that their factory in China is up to environmental standards. But due to my concerns I have to deduct 1 star for the time being.
